Attempt to rob ATM, Manipur police arrest youth

Imphal: Police arrested a youth who attempted to loot an ATM at Langjing Keithel in Imphal West district on Thursday. The arrested youth has been identified as Ch Koireng (19) of Imphal West district, according to police.

He was caught red-handed while trying to rob the ATM booth today around 2:30 am, police said.

The police said that he was arrested after a team of Patsoi police station rushed to the spot after the management of the CCTV camera installed at the ATM booth sounded an alarm.

He was found trying to open the cash compartment of the ATM when the police reached there, the police added.

Patsoi police has registered a case against him and initiated an investigation, the police further added.
