A one day political conference organised by Naga People’s Front Tamenglong Division was held at UBS Assembly Hall, Tamenglong headquarters.
The program on Saturday was attended by Awangbow Newmai, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Sericulture minister, Robert T Maram, Working President, NPF MSU, Khangthuanang Panmei, Vice President NPF MSU, Honreikhui Kashung General Secretary NPF MSU, Joseph Newme, President NPF Tamenglong and Namsinrei Panmei, Chairman ADC Tamenglong. Various CSO leaders, youths and Church leaders also attended the program.
Speaking at the program, minister Awangbow expressed that Nagas are moving forward with hope that there will be peaceful and amicable solution. He also reaffirmed the political stand of the party and mentioned, NPF believe in truth and will stand for the people.
Minister Awangbow also questioned the call for talks made by the centre to Meiteis and Kukis regarding their demands made to centre said, “If you said no to Nagas will you said yes to others?” He continued and said, “If there’s yes to one community and no to others, won’t there be problem? But when this problem arise, people have to take responsibilities as this is the decision of the people. But Nagas opt for peaceful and amicable solution which is why it taken over 20 years,” he said.
The minister also urged the people to know their rights or else people will not get what they deserve.
While addressing the fact that NPF is the only party which ask of respect for others right, Awangbow Newmai encouraged to respect each others right and cautioned not to encroach the right of others.
The ideology of NPF is to stand for the people who cannot stand for their right, he added.
