Ukhrul: Under the sponsorship of Khashim Vashum, Minister Animal Husbandry and Veterinary and Transport, Manipur, a one day awareness programme on drug abuse and health camp was organised at Hoomi village and Halang village of Ukhrul District, Manipur.
The one day awareness on drug abuse and health camp was jointly organised by WCAD, DAPCU, Ukhrul Police, LWS/SPYM, PASDO, CARE, SNM and SIDO.

President of WCAD, Ngamreiwung Horam led the team at Hoomi and Halang villages. Dr. Vickash and Dr. Akuli were the two specialist doctor who administered the health check up.
Around 600 villagers attended the health camp programme at Hoomi and Halang villages.

Ringthing Hongchui, Additional SP of Ukhrul and Vaomi Shangh of SNM-Ukhrul were the resource persons of the programme. The villagers expressed immense gratitude to organiser and especially to Minister Khashim Vashum for sponsoring the event by sending doctors for health check up along with much needed medicine.
The awareness campaign on drug abuse has been actively being carried out in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts with activities such as “street show” along with Tangkhul artists at churches and village level since October 2023.
