SENAPATI: The Mao Council, has strongly condemned the alleged arson killing of two Naga travellers at TM Kassom village along National Highway-202 on April 18.
The Council described the attack as “horrific and barbaric,” denouncing the targeting of civilians as a deeply regrettable act that violates the basic dignity of humanity. It stated that such cold-blooded violence is unjustifiable and called for strict action against those responsible.
The Council urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a fair and impartial investigation and ensure that the perpetrators are identified and given befitting punishment in accordance with the law. It further stressed that justice must be delivered without bias and in the interest of truth.

Expressing solidarity, the Mao Council extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the victims, identified as Chinoashang Shokwungnao and Yaruingam Vashum. The Council said the Mao community stands with the families in their time of grief and mourns the loss of the two lives.
