Arriving around 9:30 AM, the leaders first visited the Sadbhavna Mandap Relief Camp in Tuibong, where they were welcomed by children singing the patriotic song “Hindustan Hamara.” They distributed sweets and handed over relief materials, including blankets, thermoflasks, and torchlights, to the camp residents. During the visit, a woman, who wished to remain anonymous, shouted “We want Separate Administration,” but did not receive a response from the visiting leaders.
At the relief camp, the delegation was received by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and the Churachandpur District BJP president. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Patra expressed solidarity with the internally displaced persons (IDPs), recalling that the Prime Minister had personally visited Churachandpur by road in September despite heavy rain, underscoring his concern for those affected. He stated that all possible efforts are being made to restore normalcy, particularly to ensure that children can resume their education and live in a secure environment.
Dr. Patra also commended the resilience of the IDP children, expressing confidence that they would excel and “do wonders in times of peace.” Reiterating the BJP’s stand against violence, he urged all communities to embrace peace and extended his wishes for a peaceful and joyful Christmas season.
