Body of Elderly Man Found in Langol Lairembi; Investigation underway

Imphal: A dismembered body of an unidentified elderly man, believed to be between 70 and 75 years old, was discovered on Tuesday in the hills of Langol Lairembi, Ward Number 4, within the jurisdiction of Lamphel Police Station. The body was found beneath a tree, with a traditional Meitei khudei (loincloth) hanging from one of its branches.

Local residents stumbled upon the remains while foraging for vegetables in the nearby hills. Upon receiving the report, a team from Lamphel Police arrived at the scene to begin the investigation. Disturbingly, the man’s head was found detached from his body.

The body has been taken to RIMS Morgue for identification, and further investigations are underway to determine the cause of death and any possible leads.
