Ukhrul, August 13: A medical team from the Border Security Force’s Sector Headquarters CI (Ops) in Imphal on Wednesday conducted a large-scale health check-up camp at Kendriya Vidyalaya School in Lamphel, reaching nearly 2,000 students, BSF in a press release said.
The initiative, held under the guidance of Ravi Kant, IPS, Inspector General of BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier, and supervised locally by the Deputy Inspector General of SHQ CI (Ops) Manipur, provided comprehensive screenings aimed at detecting early signs of illness among schoolchildren.
Students underwent measurements of height and weight, as well as eye, ear and throat examinations. BSF doctors also screened for both acute and chronic conditions, with the aim of ensuring prompt medical intervention where needed.

“Our goal is to ensure that every child is healthy and can pursue education without the hindrance of medical issues,” said Dr. Pran Kumar Prem, Chief Medical Officer of BSF Manipur. “By investing in the health of these young students, we are investing in the future of our country.”
The school administration thanked the BSF team for what it described as a valuable service to the community. Officials said the program reflected the Force’s broader commitment to civic engagement alongside its border security duties.
The BSF routinely undertakes public welfare initiatives in areas where it operates, including health, education and infrastructure support.
