MYB Chandel to Mark International Women’s Day With One-day Sports Event

CHANDEL: To mark the celebration of the International Women’s Day this year, the Mera Yuva Bharat Chandel and Sports Authority of India (Khelo India Chandel) will be organizing a one-day sporting event for girls/women at the District Sports Complex, Chandel Christian on Saturday at 7 am. 

Held in collaboration with the District Sports Association (DSA) Chandel, the event aims to promote women’s participation in sports, encourage physical fitness, and foster a culture of active living across all age groups, through the Government of India’s flagship ‘Sports for Women’ initiative named ASMITA, which stands for Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action.

The event, a 200 metres’ race, will be conducted for different age groups namely for below 13 Years, between 13 to 18 Years and above 18 years of Age.

A friendly women volleyball match will be played as a part of the event.

Willing participants can register through mybhartat.gov.in or nsrs.kheloindia.gov.in.

In another notification by DSA Chandel, association president T. Chamna Anal has called on all clubs to send in and nominate maximum number of girls/women for the event.
