BSF rescues over 25 cattle

Shillong: The BSF said that it rescued over twenty-five cattle on Sunday along the international border in East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya while they were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Mobile Check Post of 04 Bn BSF deployed in the area Nongskhen, East Khasi Hills observed that some cattle were being taken towards the international boundary through a forest area by some smugglers, the BSF also said.

On being interrogated by BSF troops, the smugglers fled from the spot leaving the cattle behind. 

The BSF then said it seized 3481 cattle in 2022 on the international border and continued its efforts to make border crime and smuggling free.
