CHURACHANDPUR: A combined team of Churachandpur District Police and 19th Garhwal Rifles on Sunday seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Terakhongshang, forested area of Teijang village in Churachandpur, Manipur, police said.
As per the police, the team conducted a joint combing operation at the general area of Teijang village, based on reliable inputs, under the overall supervision of Gaurav Dogra, Superintendent of Police, Churachandpur.
During the joint search operations in the said area the team recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and warlike stores, including one M-A II MK II Rifle (foreign made), one M-A II MK II Rifle (foreign made) magazine, one AK magazine, 36 AK ammunition, 20 5.56 mm ammunition, seven 7.62 mm ammunition, three Ammos of different caliber, two HE hand grenades, three IED (3.5 kgs approximately) and a muzzle loading barrel gun, the police said.
The recovered arms and ammunition were handed over to Churachandpur PS for further necessary legal action, it added.
