Mao Council Felicitates Manipur Deputy CM Losii Dikho at Tadubi

SENAPATI: Expressing joy and giving thanks to the Almighty, the Mao Council on Saturday felicitated Losii Dikho, Manipur Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the PHED, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, at Tadubi.

In his welcome address, N. Athikho Joseph, President of the Mao Council, expressed happiness over Dikho being appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister. He said that with the trust reposed in Dikho by the Union Ministry and the state government, he has been entrusted with greater responsibilities in the state. The Mao Council President also lauded the Deputy Chief Minister for travelling across the state with the aim of restoring peace and normalcy amid the prevailing tense situation.

The Council President termed the event as a day showcasing appreciation to Dikho’s remarkable contribution towards the district and the state. The President prayed that God would grant him heavenly wisdom as he assumes the position to serve the people of the state, and bless him with a long life dedicated to serving the people.

Addressing the gathering, Dikho expressed his gratitude for the generosity shown to him through gifts presented by various associations and organisations, including the women and students of the Mao community. Acknowledging the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the position he holds today was made possible through the prayers and support of the people.

Referring to the ongoing budget session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, he stated that the Manipur Government has been making all possible efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the state. He added that the state government remains committed to ensuring inclusive development.

Dikho sought support and cooperation from all, particularly in implementing developmental projects in the near future. He reassured to give his service for the welfare of the people.

Monolith was blessed and unveiled by Rev. A. Pfokrelo, Executive Secretary of Mao Baptist Churches Association (MBCA) at Mao Council Secretariat Complex, Tadubi in the beginning of the program.

Different gifts including certificate of appreciation, Naga shawls, local cocks, vegetables, fruits, etc. were presented to the Deputy Chief Minister during the program. Officials from the Mao Council and their units from Dimapur, Kohima, Senapati and others were present during the program.
