CBSE Class 10 Exams Cancelled, 12 Board Exams Postponed

Results of Class 10 would be prepared "on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board"

The Central Board of Secondary Education Wednesday announced that Class 12 board exams have been postponed and Class 10 exams cancelled owing to the present situation of the pandemic and school closures, taking in account the safety and well-being of students, it said in a notification.

The CBSE exams for Class 12, which were to be held from May 4 to June 14, have been postponed, said Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in tweets.

The notification said “the situation will be reviews on June 1, 2021 by the board, and details will be shared subsequently,” adding that a notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of examinations, it added.

“Class 10 board exams which was to be held on May 4 to June 7, is hereby cancelled,” it said. The notification also added that the results of Class 10 would be prepared “on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board” and students not satisfied with their marks would be given the chance to take the exams when the conditions are conducive, it said.
