Various students bodies of Churachandpur declared ‘Non-Cooperation’ against the government of Manipur in the runup to ‘Go To Village 2.0’ program scheduled for launching at Churachandpur’s Peace Ground tomorrow. It has appealed the general public of Churachandpur not to attend the program.

Terming the ADC Bill 2021 issue a hypocritical display of the government double standard towards tribal people, the joint statement said, “The Tribal populace of Churachandpur district stands strong against the Anti-Tribal attitudes of the Biren-led government of Manipur. The non-tabling of the HAC Bill, 2021 and the subsequent moved to include 9 (nine) valley MLAs in the HAC, in contravention to Article 371C of the Indian Constitution and Rules of business of the State Assembly is a total anti-tribal.”

The declaration of “Non-Cooperation” on the Government of Manipur has been announced until the HAC Bill is passed and the order to include nine valley MLAs in the Hill Area Committee (HAC) by the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly is revoked, we can’t afford to witness the hypocritical display of this government double standard towards tribal people, the statement added.

The decision was arrived at a joint meeting of various student bodies at KSO Churachandpur’s office.
