Central Team Visits Dimapur Landslide Zone, Evaluates Damage and Engages with Affected Residents

DIMAPUR, SEP 10: An inter-ministerial central team led by Joint Secretary (FFR), Ministry of Home Affairs, Anant Kishore Saran visited the landslide affected areas at Pherima along Dimapur-Kohima highway (NH-29) today.

The team visited and inspected the damage areas and assessed the damage caused by the incessant rain leading to mudslide and landslide in several areas along National Highway-29 at Pherima, Pagala Pahar Tseiphema and Piphema.

The team also interacted with the people affected by the landslide and the local leaders briefed the central team on the situation of the area affected by the landslide. The team after inspecting took note of the situation and expressed their solidarity of the situation to the affected people.

The ministerial team included Assistant Director, Ministry of Rural Development Ranjana Saini; Superintending Engineer Ministry of Jal Shakti, CWC, MS Saravana Kumar; Superintending Engineer Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Adelbert Susngi and Section Officer Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Atul Bamnai. Deputy Commissioner Chumukedima, Polan John and SDO (C) Medziphema, Selemla S Sangtam accompanied the team.
