Chandel District Honors New AIFF National Referees and Hosts Referee Training Program

Chandel, Aug 29: The District Sports Association (DSA) Chandel, in collaboration with the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), has launched a two-day Referee New Recruitment Training and Refreshers Course cum Fitness Test at Thoruul Turf, Liwa Sarei, Chandel.

A total of 32 referees, including 17 new recruits and 15 experienced officials, are participating in the 2024-25 training program. The course features esteemed AMFA instructors, including Ph. Lanthoiba, Head of Referee at AMFA; M. Magho Singh, Referee Assessor and Former FIFA Assistant Referee; and Ajit Singh, AIFF Referee Assessor and Best AIFF Referee Award Winner (2019).

The opening ceremony was attended by L. Jyotirmoy Roy, General Secretary of AMFA, accompanied by D.B. Kowar Lamkang, Acting President of AMFA, and other AMFA executives. T.S. Chamna Anal, President of DSA Chandel, dedicated the ceremony with a prayer for the success of the trainees.

In his welcome address, H.L. Lovingson Anal, Vice President of DSA Chandel, expressed his gratitude to AMFA for organizing the training in Chandel and sending the instructors despite challenging conditions. He encouraged the trainees to dedicate themselves fully to their roles for a brighter future.

During the program, DSA Chandel honored Miss Sr. Ningnihring Anal for becoming the second woman AIFF National Referee from Chandel District. The President of DSA Chandel congratulated her along with other AIFF National Referees from the district who have been appointed as match officials for various tournaments. Th. Joyshing Mpnsang, an AIFF Elite Referee, will officiate the I-League 3 in Aizawl, Mizoram, from September 1 to 12, 2024. Miss Rd. Hringnidam Anal will officiate the Sub-Junior Girls National Football Championship in Berhampore, West Bengal, from August 31 to September 12, 2024, while Miss Sr. Ningnihring Anal will officiate the same championship in Malda, West Bengal, from August 31 to September 10, 2024.
