As the COVID-19 cases are spreading amongst the community population in the rural areas of Manipur, the health department of Chandel District under the guidance of the District Administration have been rigorously working to give complete vaccination of the people and do timely mass testing to avoid wider community spread of the virus in the district.
Accordingly, a mass testing of COVID-19 was conducted on Monday at Monsang Pantha Community Hall by District Health Department Chandel in collaboration with the village authority of Monsang Pantha Village.
192 persons from the village participated in the mass testing where all the results turned out negative.
The Monsang Pantha village headed by the village chief have been actively motivating the villagers of Monsang Pantha to take COVID-19 vaccine of 18 years and above. So far, eligible populace of the village have taken the first dose of vaccine, except 6 persons who are bedridden and are under medication.
The village authority headed by the village Chief, Ng. Vincent Konishing have been regularly reminding the villagers to follow COVID-19 SOP and the rules of curfew laid down by the district administration for the well being of the people.
Speaking on the occasion he said, “I do hereby, express my profound gratitude to the District Administration and the District Health Department Chandel for the full coverage of COVID-19 mass vaccination on August 1 and mass testing of 192 persons covering all families of the Monsang pantha village on Monday”. He also urged the villagers to continue to take outmost care to avoid mass gathering and going outside of their homes unnecessarily so that the community can avoid COVID-19 spread in its populace.
