Chandel: The Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) conducted its Installation and Oath Taking ceremony for the newly nominated members for the term 2024-2027 on Monday, at Chandonpokpi (Phaipi) Community Hall. The event was graced by esteemed personalities and witnessed a formal induction of key office bearers into their respective roles.

The ceremony, conducted under the guidance of D. Angrung Maring, Vice President of MUA, unfolded with an Invocation led by Kh. Rengshot, a Local Pastor, setting a solemn tone for the proceedings. TS. Ruwngwar, Co-Convenor of the Search Committee, CNPO, extended warm welcome notes to all attendees, marking the beginning of the ceremony.

The Installation ceremony was presided over by Minister Rev. Hanum Khiang, Executive Secretary of Ch. BCA, who officiated the formal placement of the nominated office bearers, followed by the Oath Taking administered by K. Yaima Maring, Convenor of the Search Committee, CNPO, ensuring a commitment to the responsibilities ahead.

An address by the outgoing President of CNPO reflected on past achievements and challenges, setting the stage for the incoming leadership. The Response from the President Elect of CNPO underscored the vision and plans for the upcoming term, emphasizing unity and progress for the Chandel Naga community.

Ng. Benithan, President of SUR, extended a vote of thanks, acknowledging the collaborative efforts that led to the successful nomination and installation process. The ceremony concluded with a benediction by Rev. Sonai Saka, President of CNCF, invoking blessings for a fruitful tenure ahead.

•             General Secretary: Sh. Kalenchung (Monsang Tribe)

•             Asst. Gen. Secretary: Ps. Kingson (Anal Tribe)

•             Finance Secretary: Kh. Lungkim (Chothe Tribe)

•             Information & Publicity Secretary: LR. Meran (Maring Tribe)

•             Social & Culture Secretary: Sk. Sunny (Lamkang Tribe)

•             Forest & Environment Secretary: Sr. Angtun (Anal Tribe)

•             Speaker: Mosyel Syelsaangthyel Khaling
