Chandel Naga People’s Organisations demands Fertilizers for Farmers

Published on

A press note from the Chandel Naga People’s Organisations (CNPO) Thursday urged the concerned authorities to look into the issue of inaccessibility to fertilizers in the district at the earliest.

CNPO noted that farmers of Chandel do not have access to fertilizers despite Manipur Agriculture Minister, Oinam Lukhoi’s claim that there was enough stoke of Urea fertilizers to be distributed for farmers on July 4 last. “He stated that there would be no shortage for the Kharif season,” the organisation alleged.

Chandel Naga People’s Organisations appealing the state government to provide sufficient fertilizer for Chandel district, pointed out that “over a thousand farmers have seen the invisible fertilizers,” and further underscored that such “inconveniences caused by the state government will only pull down the steps towards fulfilling PM Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling farmer’s income by 2022.”
