Churachandpur: Joint Drive Destroys 20 Acres of Illegal Poppy Cultivation

Ukhrul: A joint team comprising Churachandpur District Police, Forest Department, 129 Battalion CRPF, 1st IRB Churachandpur, and an Executive Magistrate conducted a drive to destroy illegal poppy cultivation at Thinghangjang Hill Range under Churachandpur Sub-Division.

The operation, carried out between 10 am and 1 pm, resulted in the destruction of approximately 20 acres of illicit poppy fields. No arrests were made as the cultivators could not be identified. However, two temporary huts were burned, and five poppy plants with pods were seized in the presence of witnesses.
