Ukhrul, July 28: In response to the recent landslides along NH-2 (Churachandpur–Tipaimukh Road), MLA of 57-Henglep (ST) Assembly Constituency, along with Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Dharun Kumar S, SDOs of Henglep and Kangvai Th. Mangminthang Gangte, SP Prakhar Pandey, Additional DC Seiminthang Lenthang, and representatives of the Henglep Sub-Division Chief’s Association, conducted a field visit to the affected areas.

The visit aimed to assess the extent of damage and coordinate relief efforts. During the inspection, the team distributed essential relief rations to residents impacted by the disaster.
Per information provided by the MLA’s office:
- The team inspected landslide-hit stretches of the Churachandpur–Tipaimukh Road up to D. Khawzim village and interacted with affected residents to assess their challenges firsthand at Chongkhojou village.
- The MLA held a crucial review meeting with BIPL Project Manager Ranjeet, Senior Engineer Saugata Dutta, Supervisor Subhojit, and other staffs involved in the ongoing road clearance. BIPL assured that all landslide debris up to Tipaimukh will be cleared within one week.
- The team also visited Old Phaisat, Bungkot, Lhanjang, Tuilaphai, Tuila areas for on-the-ground assessment of the damage and accessibility.
- 200 bags of rice were distributed to the affected villages by the MLA. (Phase-1: 100 bags, Phase-2: 200 bags. Another 100 bags will also be delivered soon). He assured that coordinated efforts with the District Administration and Sub-Divisional Officer are in full swing to ensure no household remains unattended.
