Ukhrul, 17 November, 2022: This clarification is being issued in the larger interest of the general public and in particular, the bereaved family members of late Yarnam Haorei of Chingai village who breathed his last on November 5/6 last.
That over his untimely demise, charges and accusations were labelled against the deceased employer Mingthing Horam, family members and relative alleging that they were “concealing the truth and protecting the two culprits” as published in some of the state daily newspapers and electronic medias.
To set the record straight, the above mentioned persons had nothing to do with the incident and in no way they concealed and protect the two culprits as alleged.

This accusation was made out of misunderstanding and with not malice to the persons stated above.
In the light of this backdrop, Pamshon Haorei, uncle of late Yarnam Haorei had withdrawn the complaint petition filed on November 10, 2022 for arrest of Mingthing Horam S/o (L) Chaoba Horam, Chihanmi Horam S/o Mingthing Horam, Rinsomi Horam S/o Peter Horam, AS Worchung S/o (L) AS. Ngarai and AS. Wortam S/o (L) AS. Ngarai who are all residents of New Tusom village in Manipur’s north of Ukhrul district under Jessami police station in connection with FIR NO. 1 (11) 2022, JSM- PS. U/S 302/110/34 IPC.
With the issuance of this clarification, the charges slapped against the above individuals have been put to rest for once and all in addition to withdrawing the FIR, and may no third party further incite the issue again.

The decision to these effect was taken by neighouring villages headman, chairman, village authority and elders forum with the sole intent to restore peace and amicably resolved the case.
