Closure of Weekly markets in West Garo Hills from May 5 to 15

The District Magistrate of West Garo Hills, Ram Singh, on Wednesday promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC on May 4, thereby temporarily closing all weekly markets in the district from May 5 to 15.

The traders and businessmen from outside the state have been directed to produce Covid-19 negative certificates issued by the Civil hospital, Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres, Sub-centres or authorized laboratories.

The order also directed the shop-keepers, traders and general public to strictly follow the Covid protocols such as wearing masks in public places, maintaining social distance, the practice of hand hygiene, etc.
