CM inaugurated foundation for Tamenglong Football Ground online

Tamenglong: The foundation for natural green grass football ground in Tamenglong HQs was inaugurated by CM  Biren Singh virtually today. While CM attended online, Deputy Commissioner Armstrong and other districts officials Mahesh Choudhari, IAS, Superintendent of Police, SDPO, SDO Tousem, DRDA Officials and few public leaders attended the event.

Agreed upon by the Minority Affairs Department, Government of Manipur the work is being taken up under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) with DRDA Tamenglong as the implementing agency.

N Biren Singh during his visit to Tamenglong in 2017 assured to develop the ground and further promised for the development of the ground during the Orange Festival in 2019. The ground will have cycling track of 480 metres long, space for Indoor games such boxing and taekwondo will be availed. The budget for the natural football ground is said to be Rs. 3.29 crore.

Speaking with media DC Armstrong said, the ground will have 8 running tracks, 2 VIP gallery, basket ball court,  2 players dressing room and complex solar lighting. 50% of the construction is said to be completed. The ground is designed by Architecture Suritrika Salem.

Armstrong also stated there will be library centre and employment information in ZEF complex where youths and students can avail the benefits. The amount of Rs.0.49 Crore has been sanctioned for the Library project and information Centre.
