CM: Manipur Govt Working with Transparency, Sincerity, Honesty

Under PMJVK, a total of 264 projects amounting to Rs. 321 crore have been completed and 318 projects amounting to Rs. 704 crore have been taken up in the State.

Imphal: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”, the State government is working for the welfare of the people with transparency, sincerity and honesty. This was stated by him at the launching program for distribution of benefits under Economic Development Programme (EDP) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) held at City Convention Center, Imphal today.

Speaking as Chief Guest of the function, the Chief Minister said that the Government has successfully implemented Go to Hills and Go to Village missions with an objective to bring governance at people’s doorsteps. He said that there has been a lot of infrastructural development in the last four and half years with the support of the people.

The Chief Minister stressed that the government is trying its best to improve the rural economy of the State. He maintained that the Manipur StartUp Scheme was introduced to support entrepreneurs in the State and many of the entrepreneurs. The government has constructed and inaugurated seven Women’s Markets in different hill districts of the State and the construction for another 10 Women’s Markets are being taken up, he added.

N. Biren Singh mentioned that law and order has been improved drastically under the present BJP led government. The Government has taken various steps for the safety and security of women in the State, he stated and added that All-Women Police Stations were also established in different districts. A 24X7 toll free Women Helpline has been made functional since the installation of the present government, he further added.

The Chief Minister informed that poultry chicks are being distributed to 1418 beneficiaries amounting to Rs. 1.13 crore, knapsack sprayers to 2544 beneficiaries amounting Rs. 1.25 crore, carpentry items to 135 beneficiaries amounting to Rs. 1.37 crore, fish fingerlings to 2803 beneficiaries amounting to Rs. 2.8 crore and bicycles to 1277 minority girl students of Imphal East, Thoubal and Chandel amounting to Rs. 57 lakhs today. He further mentioned that under PMJVK, a total of 264 projects amounting to Rs. 321 crore have been completed and 318 projects amounting to Rs. 704 crore have been taken up in the State. The works include construction of Model Residential schools, Sadbhavna mandaps, PHCs etc. in both hill and valley districts, he added.

Minister for Information & Public Relations, Works and RD&PR Th. Biswajit Singh said that the government has implemented different welfare schemes, initiated various capacity and skill development programmes in the State. To overcome the unemployment problem in the State, the government has implemented StartUp scheme and provided subsidized soft loans to the entrepreneurs, he added. He maintained that to fulfill and achieve the Prime Minister’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the State government is making all its efforts to make a self-reliant State. He further stressed that Manipur has huge potential in various sectors like human resource, tourism etc. He also said that the government welcomes any constructive and positive criticism for inclusive development in the State.

Minister for Education S. Rajen Singh, Advisor to CM (Health) Dr. Sapam Ranjan, MLAs M. Rameshwar Singh, MD. Antas Khan, Chairperson, Manipur State Minorities Commission Anwar Hussain, Secretary (MA&MOBC&SC) Ningthoujam Geoffrey and others attended the function.

It may be mentioned that the function was organised by Department of Minority Affairs, Department for Welfare of OBC and SC and Manipur Minority and OBC Economic Society (MOBEDS).
