CNPO Withdraws Demand Against Chandel SP Transfer

UKHRUL: The Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) has withdrawn its memorandum demanding the transfer Chandel SP Dharmendra Kumar S after finding that the earlier information was “inaccurate and miscommunicated”.

“The CNPO received certain information through some individuals on the allegations to the office of SP, Chandel. Upon proper verification, inquiry, and confirmation through concerned officials as well as through independent sources, the earlier information was found to be inaccurate, miscommunicated and unfounded. Consequently, the Memorandum and Press Release issued by CNPO are hereby formally withdrawn,” the CNPO said in a statement. 

Tendering its apology to the office of the Superintendent of Police, Chandel and other officers, the CNPO stated that SP Dharmendra Kumar S is a man of integrity, working with full professionalism and service motive.

The CNPO further stated that a meeting was held on Thursday, between CNPO Tribunals (Mediators), CNPO Executives, Units, and Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Kumar S where a mutual understanding was reached. 

“The parties agreed to work together for the betterment of the people and the district, collaborating between CNPO and the Police Department,” the statement added.

Recently, CNPO had written to the Governor of Manipur, demanding the immediate transfer of Dharmendra Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Chandel District Police alleging corruption and administrative malfeasance.
