Commander in Chief of SDFK Killed in Encounter with Security Forces in Ccpur

Commander in Chief (C-in-C) of a non-SoO militant SDFK (Socialist Democratic Front of Kukiland) was killed today and his bodyguard sustained injuries in a reported gunfight with security forces in Churachandpur district.

According to press note, the gun battle took place around 2 am of September 10 at Khominthang village, New Lamka, Churchandpur.

The deceased SDFK chief is identified as Letminthang Haokip @ Boithang Haokip, self style C-in-C of SDFK and the injured person is identified as Lunkhosei Chongloi.

Lunkhosei Chongloi was evacuated to Churchandpur district Hospital from where he was refered to Imphal for further treatment.

The security team recovered and seized three 9mm Pistols with 03 magazines, 02 Hand-held Radio Sets, 282 Rounds of 9mm and one Honda Activa from their possession.

Churachandpur Police has registered FIR No. 88(9)2021 CCP-PS U/s 400/307 IPC, 25 (1-C) Arms Act. and further investigation is underway.

Haokip @ Boithang self-styled C-in-C of Socialist Democratic Front of Kukiland (SDFK), a non-SoO group and one of his cadre in Khominthang Village, New Lamka area.

To nab the SDFK cadres, the combined team surrounded a specific house in the village. The security team received fire from inside the house. The security teams also retaliated with maximum care to avoid collateral damage. When the security teams entered the house after the firing was stopped Letminthang Haokip informed.

Boithang self-styled C-in-C of SDFK was found lying dead from bullet injury and another person identified as Lunkhosei Chongloi (bodyguard of Boithang) was found injured with bullet injury.

The press note further stated that there were inputs about the activities of Boithang and his group indulging in threatening and serving extortion demand letters to various village chiefs, shops and other business establishments in and around Churachandpur town especially in Tuibong Bazar area in the past one month.
