Chandel: Commemoration Prayer Service of Late Sh. Delfina Monsang eldest daughter of Sh. Manglem Monsang, ex-ADC member Chandel and Ts. Phamdung Monsang of Japhou village Chandel, was observed at Japhou community hall on Thursday.
Late Sh. Delfina Monsang had served as Supervisor in ICDS under Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur and was posted at Khenjoi block Chandel till the time of her death on 24th July, 2021. She was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Shija Hospital on July 19. Unfortunately, her health slowly kept deteriorating and finally on July 24, 2021 at 8:00 pm she breathed her last due to Type II Respiratory Failure leaving behind her family, relatives and her loved ones.
In remembrance of their late daughter Sh. Delfina Monsang on her 40th birth anniversary, the family initiated a commemoration prayer service in loving memory of their beloved daughter by inviting heads of the district administration, church leaders, village leaders, elders, family & relatives, women, youth, friends and well-wishers from near and far places for a commemoration prayer service.
Deputy Commisioner Chandel M. Rajkumar, CEO ADC, Chandel Ksh. Siddharth, DLOs of Chandel, public leaders, tribe president’s, chiefs of Monsang villages, church elders from various communities attended the commemoration prayer service. Few closed friends of Sh.Manglem Monsang including senior politicians like Bd.Behring, Ex-MP/MLA, DK.Korungthang, Hon’ble MLA, 42A/C, Morung Mokunga, Ex-MLA , Ws. Kanral Anal, Speaker UNC, Ng. Gilbert, President SUR, Markson, Former ADC Chairman, Senapati district, Ex-ADC Members of Chandel also attended the prayer program .
The department of Social Welfare also gave a tribute to the departed soul. Secretary and members of AMISA, CDPO and supervisors of Chandel ICDS project, supervisors of ICDS project Chakpikarong, Supervisors of Machi ICDS project, CDPO, Supervisors and Angan Wadi Workers and Helpers of Khengjoy ICDS project attended the program and show their respect and prayer support.
Monsang Naga Baptist Churches Association (MNBCA) Exe. Secy Rev. Alani Shongsir led the unveiling of the monument erected at the residential compound with detail biography of (L). Sh. Delfina and genealogy of Sh. Manglem past and present family tree. The unveiling of the monument was conducted in the presence of Japhou village authority and chuch leaders in the morning. A biography of (L) Sh. Delfina Monsang was also released with a word of prayer.
In the afternoon session, Sh. Manglem in his welcome speech express his profound gratitude to deputy commissioner Chandel, M. Rajkumar for all the support and cooperation extended during intense Covid situation and the permission given to Covid victims for proper burial by folowing govt Covid protocols and guidelines. On behalf of the other Covid victim families, he expressed his gratitude to the heads of the district administration and medical department. Pastor Japhou Baptist Church, Sh. Shrimon gave commemoration message by citing references from holy scripture in which he gave exegesis on “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. ” Romans 14.8. Condolence message from family members, gifts to (L) Sh. Delfina’s close friends as a token of love and appreciation, special nos, and grand lunch and refreshment marked the occasion a sweet and memorable one.
