Congress party in Manipur dedicates ambulances, medical oxygen on death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Friday dedicated ambulances, oxygen concentrators, food packets, medicines and other items to the people to combat the COVID-19 in the state as the party observed the 30th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi at Imphal Congress Bhavan.

The ambulances were flagged off by MPCC president K Govindas in the presence of other party leaders including former chief minister O Ibobi Singh and CWC member Gaikhangam among others.

During the function, former chief minister, O Ibobi Singh said that the ambulances and oxygen concentrators dedicated by the party will be deployed at remote and far flung areas of the state. The ambulances dedicated  will be used in the transportation of COVID-19 patients from the remote rural areas of the state, Ibobi said. The party is planning to dedicate 10 to 15 ambulances as a mark of respect to the late former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, he added.

The ambulances and oxygen concentrators will be provided to the Covid care centres and community home isolation centres opened in all the 60 Assembly constituencies of the state where they are required, he added.
