Congress Rally Draws Thousands in Dimapur, Contrasting with Sparse Attendance at J.P. Nadda’s Agri Expo: RPP

Dimapur: The Rising People’s Party (RPP) in a press release said it saw a stark contrast in voter sentiments in the Congress rally held in Dimapur that garnered participation from thousands of enthusiastic supporters, while the J.P. Nadda rally at the Agri Expo saw only a handful of attendees.

“Unless there’s free and fair election on the polling day, the NDPP will walk into the sunset with stolen victory for which it’ll be a great loss for the state,” RPP stated.

Additionally, the RPP “calls upon all the conscientious leaders to help prevent mockery of democracy. The village GBs as the custodian of Naga customary laws and tradition should see to that the great evil called the UCC as promised to be implemented by the RSS/BJP is repulsed with patriotic fervor but as stated it can only be done if there’s free and fair election in the state. The Church leaders are also requested to see to that their clarion call for clean election is implemented in letter and in spirit.”

The RPP then stated it is deeply worried that the upcoming election will be stolen by the might of the state machinery.

Expressing deep concern over the potential misuse of state machinery to influence the election outcome, the RPP has provided a list of constituencies with probable booth capturing risks to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland.

Calling to “Save Democracy” in the country, RPP stated it believes the Naga people, irrespective of political colours will rise to the occasion.
