SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma has expressed a deep sense of anguish on the death of former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.

“We are saddened to hear the demise of Pranab Mukherjee. He has contributed immensely to the nation and the people in different capacities and it is a great loss for this nation,” said Sangma.

Recalling the narratives of the tall leader through his father, late P. A. Sangma, the Chief Minister said, “I remember my father, late P. A. Sangma always spoke very highly about him and he used to tell us that he was a person who was very efficient in what he used to do”.

“A person who had facts and figures in his fingertips and really knew the subjects he was looking into,” he added.

Former President, Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee passed away on Monday at the age of 84. Earlier this month, he had undergone brain surgery at Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi.
