COVID-19 cases in Manipur nearing 27,000 mark

The total number of people diagnosed with COVID-19 in Manipur is nearing a 27000-mark. With the detection of 174 fresh positive cases of COVID-19 in the state in the past 24 hours,  the cases of the disease in the state has reached 26,859 on Friday.

Of the 174 fresh cases, 136 are from the general population while the rest 38 are personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Regarding the fatality cases, Manipur has recorded 320 COVID-19 related deaths so far. This number included two cases of death recorded on Friday.

Of the total caseload of COVID-19 in the state, 2,998 are active cases, while 23,541 persons have recovered from the viral infection, according to a press release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Regarding the fresh COVID-19 cases from general population, 45 are from Imphal West, 41 from Imphal East, eight from Thoubal, 12 from Bishnupur, two from Kakching, five from Tamenglong, four from Tengnoupal, two from Chandel, three from Kangpokpi, two from Senapati and 12 from Churachandpur. 

Meanwhile, the recovery rate stands at 87.64 % as discharge of 144 patients after recovering from the disease during the past 24 hours took the total recovery tally to 23,541.
