COVID-19 vaccination drive conducted in Tamenglong

As part of nation wide COVID-19 vaccination drive on the day of the rollout, 44 health workers in Tamenglong were vaccinated on Saturday.

In the launch program organised by Tamenglong District Health Society at Tamenglong District hospital, Armstrong Pame, Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong, Mohurle Sandip Gopaldas, Superintendent of Police, Tamenglong and Dr Chambo Gonmei, Chief Medical Officer, Tamenglong were the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Function President respectively. The program was launched in the presence of Dr Sunil Kamei, District Immunization Officer, Tamenglong.

In the first phase, 438 doses would be firstly vaccinated to all the medical staffs of Tamenglong District with 100 person in a day. The vaccination is planned for the first 400 in four days and the remaining 38 to be vaccinated on the 5th day.

As of Saturday only 44 health staff turned up for the vaccination. Dr Chambo Gonmei, CMO, Tamenglong got the first shot of Covishield vaccine. It was followed by Dr G Majachunglu and Dr Sunil Kamei, DIO, Tamenglong.
