COVID-19 vaccination in Manipur crosses 50,000 mark

The number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Manipur crossed 50,000-mark on Saturday.

A total of 3482 healthcare workers and frontline workers were inoculated on Saturday, taking the overall number of people vaccinated to 52,327, officials of the state health department said.

The overall number of people vaccinated included 29,760, the official added.

Meanwhile, the number of people infected with COVID-19 in the state rose to 29,271 as 11 more fresh cases were reported on Saturday, as per the daily update data of the state Health department.

Of the 11 fresh cases, five were from Imphal West, four were from Imphal East and one each from Thoubal and Senapati districts.

The recovery tally also rose to 28,854 with four patients discharged after they recovered. There are 44 active cases in the state. The recovery rate of the state stood at 98.57%.

As no death related to the pandemic was reported today also, the fatality tally remained at 373. The state reported no death for the last 20 days.
