Agartala, Aug 2: Tripura’s Sridam Tapan Paul has been named among the 15 players selected for the East Zone squad in the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2025-26, to be captained by Ishan Kishan. His inclusion marks a landmark achievement for Tripura cricket and highlights his consistent red-ball performances in recent seasons.
Born on 1 February 2002 in Agartala, Tripura, Paul has steadily established himself as a key batter for the state side. As of March 2025, he has played 20 first-class matches, scoring 1,055 runs at an average of 40.75. His record includes three centuries and seven half-centuries, with a highest score of 146. He has also picked up 7 wickets, with best bowling figures of 3/16.
In List A cricket, Paul has scored 171 runs in 6 matches at an average of 28.50. His T20 record includes 235 runs from 11 innings, with two half-centuries and a top score of 68.

Paul completed his schooling from Berimura Higher Secondary School and pursued higher education at Maharaja Bir Bikram College in Agartala. He hails from Mohanpur, a suburban area near the state capital.
His selection places him alongside established names such as Mohammed Shami, Akash Deep, and Riyan Parag. Vice-captain Abhimanyu Easwaran and skipper Ishan Kishan will lead the East Zone side in their campaign starting 28 August in Bengaluru.
