UKHRUL: In a bid to improve access to clean and safe drinking water and support community development the D/157 Bn of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday distributed water pipes to the people of Khomingthang New Lamka village, Churachandpur, Manipur under its Civic Action Programme.
Organized at the Old SP office Churachandpur, the CRPF distributed 800 meters of water pipes to the locals.
“The distribution of water pipes is expected to significantly ease water transportation issues and contribute to the overall development of the area,” the CRPF said in a statement.
The programme was inaugurated by Arun Kumar, Commandant, 157 Bn CRPF, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Man Madan Krishnan, Commandant, 129 Bn CRPF; Naresh Kumar, AC, 157 Bn CRPF; Samundra Singh Maharaniya, AC, 157 Bn CRPF; Varun, AC, 97 RAF, along with representatives of the state administration and a large number of local residents attended the event.
The programme reaffirmed CRPF’s commitment to community welfare alongside its role in maintaining internal security, in line with its motto “Service and Loyalty”, it added.
