Department of English Don Bosco College Maram Organized Lit Fest

Senapati, April 11: The 3rd Annual Literature Fest 2025 took place on April 11th at Don Bosco College (Autonomous) Maram, organized by the English Department. This festival honored literature in its various forms, attracting enthusiastic participation from both students and literary aficionados. The event featured two distinct sessions.

The festival commenced with an opening ceremony hosted by Nikhini Rakuyia and Adani Rebecca. Rev. Fr. Palatty Devassy, the Rector SDB, initiated the event with an invocation prayer, followed by a welcome song performed by the English second-semester students. Tokens of appreciation were presented to the chief guest Saziia Mao, HDCF Branch Manager, Senapati after which Rev. Fr. (Dr.) K.O. Sebastian, the principal, delivered a welcoming address. He introduced the chief guest, Ma’am Saziia Mao, and spoke about the enchanting power of literature in relation to the festival’s theme, “Echoes of Expression.” He encouraged students to cultivate their writing skills and to embrace the emotions of the moment.

The chief guest, Ms. Saziia Mao, emphasized the significance of effective communication and urged students to engage in reading, writing, and expressing themselves through language. This was succeeded by an engaging performance from the 6th semester students, followed by a photo session featuring the dignitaries and faculty members.

The opening ceremony concluded with a heartfelt closing statement from Sangeeta Pounai, who expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers, and teaching faculty members. She reflected on the event’s importance and encouraged ongoing involvement beyond the day’s activities.

A variety of competitions were held during the sessions, including storytelling, extempore speech, quiz, debate, PowerPoint seminar, poetry writing, painting, one-act play, and waltz.

Following the successful conclusion of the event, a celebratory feast was organized to honor the spirit of unity and appreciation. This gathering provided a wonderful opportunity for all participants and organizers from the department to come together and enjoy a meal in a joyful and relaxed setting.

The literature fest was a grand success, fostering a deeper love for literature.

It provided a platform for budding writers and poet to shine and left a lasting impact on everyone.
