Chandel, September 26: District Health Society, Chandel on Friday organised a free medical camp at Primary Health Centre, Sajik Tampak, under Chakpikarong subdivision in Chandel. It was organized as part of the Swasth Nari Sashakh Nari Abhiyaan which is being held from 17th September to 2nd October 2025.
Over ten doctors from District Hospital, Chandel comprising of specialists in Gynecology, Medicine, Ortho, Paediatric, Dentist, Ayush, etc. attended to over 330 patients from the area. Of this, about 140 were children. The team of medical professionals were led by Dr. Th. Joyson Monsang, Chief Medical Officer of Chandel.

The team was also supported by ASHA Workers from Primary Health Centre, Sajik Tampak.
Besides the normal medical checkups, screening for cancer, TB, malaria and dengue were also done. Sugar and haemoglobin levels were also checked.
Dr. Marem Kosingtha Maring, Senior MO, District Hospital, Chandel said that the camp is being held in view of the Swasth Nari Sashakh Nari Abhiyaan campaign. He informed that over 200 patients were screened with over 100 alone in the paediatric section.
He further informed that the camp will continue and will be held at CHC, Chakpikarong on September 29. Under the guidance of our CMO, it is our sincere effort to reach out to the farthest places and provide them with medical facilities, Dr. Kosingtha said.
As part of the camp, special provision of health checkup and services for all women was held with ENT, eye, BP, sugar and dental check up. Cancer screening – oral, breast and cervical, antennal check up for pregnant women were also held.
Free medicines were also provided as part of the camp.

Moreover, registration for Ayushman Bharat Health Account card also known as ABHA Card was carried out with over 30 registering for the same.
Awareness on dog bites and rabies was also highlighted to those present.
Launched at the District Hospital, Chandel, the camp was also attended Larong village on Wednesday for Sulam area. The next camp will be held on Monday at Chakpikarong.
