Chandel Naga People’s Org Urges Deputation of Sub-Deputy Collector to Chandel Block

Published on

Chandel, September 25: The Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) has requested the concerned authorities to expedite the deputation of a Sub-Deputy Collector (SDC) to the Sub-Divisional Officer’s (SDO) office in Chandel Block.

According to the CNPO, the previous SDC, Sheikh Aslam Khan, was transferred on May 30, 2025, and the office has since been functioning without a dedicated SDC. The absence of the officer has reportedly led to delays and inefficiencies in administrative tasks, affecting the local population’s ability to get their work done and impacting overall development and welfare in the block.

The organisation emphasized that the SDC plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth administrative operations and urged the authorities to fill the vacancy at the earliest. CNPO highlighted that deputing a new SDC would ensure continuity of administrative work, serve the public interest, and contribute to the well-being of the Aspirational District.
