District Administration & SDSA Award the best Shop complying with SOP in Senapati Town

The District Administration, Senapati and the Senapati District Students’ Association has today awarded the best shop complying with SOP at Senapati Bazaar. The weekly prize award of ₹1,000 for opening on specific days as per notified guidelines is for all shop keepers to wear mask, to ensure customers visits their shops with mask, maintain social distancing while waiting for their turn, and to keep hand sanitizers in front of their respective shops.

The District Administration also mentioned to award the best reporter who would report on whether a shop opened in town follow SOP as per guidlines. Any shop found not complying the SOP may lead to closure of shop for 5 working days, it said. Having felt that change in lifestyle is one of the best way to approach the pandemic and protect oneself from getting infected, as well as avoid becoming the agent spreading of the virus, this creative initiative was implemented.

The first award under this initiative was given to Oriflame, Service Point, Bountifully Store, owned and run by one, Kaini Gloria at Senapati Bazaar. The best reporter was awarded to Leshio Shedoumai.

Adahrii Maheo, ADM, Senapati in his speech stated that the step was taken to combat the pandemic in the society. With new unlock 4 guidelines issued by the government, things are slowly coming back to normal with economy, shops and other activities gradually picking up momentum. Adahrii, urged the public to maintain strict SOP and take all preventive and necessary precautions and behave responsibly in containing the spread of the virus.

M Pradip Singh, IPS, SP, Senapati asserted that having public lockdown continued for over the past 6 months now, the SP maintained that everybody has his/her own responsibility in community participation to curb the spread of the virus. He further declared that the effort of the District Administration is a positive step in the fight against Covid-19.
