District Level Science Quiz Held in Chandel

CHANDEL: A district level Science quiz was held on Monday at the Conference Hall of ZEO, Chandel in connection with the Observation of National Science Day, 2026. It was organised by the Science Unit, Zonal Education Office, Chandel in collaboration with the Directorate of Education(S), Manipur under the theme “Fostering Public Trust in Science”.

Organised for students reading in Classes IX to XII, the quiz was participated by eight schools from across Chandel with each school sending two candidates each.

The quiz was held in two formats – written and oral and it was conducted by Kothyeldawn Khaling.

At the end of the day, Seltun Notha, a Class X student of Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School secured the first place with a total point of 69.5 out of 70. Hrangbung Chanderi, a Class IX student of Koinonia Training School secured second position with 69 points while Rd. Neichinghring Anal and Nathan V. Ruwngtol, both Class XI students of Anallon Christian Institute secured the third place.

Giving away the prizes along with certificates for all participants, Hb. Starson Anal, ZEO Chandel, congratulated all the students for their participation and the winners too. He informed that the top two will participate in the state level Science quiz to be held later this month in Imphal.

He also encouraged them to participate in the upcoming Science exhibition while calling on them to come up with something new and innovative.

Earlier, Kothyeldawn Khaling spoke on the importance and role of Science in our daily lives. He said science is about facts and that it was very reliable. He also encouraged to take up science.
