DIMAPUR: The NSCN-IM has accused the Government of India of using the Kuki militants to start “the calculated aggression or premeditated violence against the Nagas. The NSCN-IM also called the Kukis a “nomadic tribe”. The NSCN-IM further said “Kukis are by nature pathological liars”.
“The truth speaks loud and clear. February 8, 2026 became the day when the Government of India using the Kuki militants started the calculated aggression or premeditated violence against the Tangkhul Nagas in Litan, Ukhrul”, said the NSCN-IM in a statement. “The nefarious plots to destroy the Naga political issue to benefit the Kukis were left open for the world to pass judgment”, it stated. “Since that day, ominous war clouds have gathered over the Naga areas in Manipur. This is the brutal truth and behind this obnoxious scenario is the government of India”, the NSCN-IM added.

The NSCN-IM then asked, “Why did the ubiquitous AR cover their faces with masks during the operation against the Tangkhul Naga civilians?” “Ethically and morally the AR knows too well that they are on the wrong side of the law, violating the rule of impartiality at a time of turmoil of this explosive nature”, the NSCN-IM added.
Thereby, security forces were caught on the wrong foot, acting as combatants rather than law enforcers, said the NSCN-IM. This is a blatant violation of the common article 1 of the Geneva Conventions, the NSCN-IM pointed out. Requiring no further explanation, this is a crime against humanity as AR were caught furnishing logistical, intelligence, or military support to the Kuki militants, the NSCN-IM further said, adding, “This is a ‘clear breach’ of international humanitarian law”.
What is appalling is when the Indian security forces are found closely operating against the Nagas armed with operational impunity to the Kuki militant groups, permitting them to target civilians without the fear of prosecution as seen in the Litan burning incident, alleged the NSCN-IM. This is a violation of Article 16 of the International Law Commission on state responsibility, the NSCN-IM further pointed out.

The statement then said that the “typical defense tactics” of the Kukis to resort to historical revisionism or falsification is open for the world to see as the Kuki intellectuals manipulate or change the narrative of history to suit a modern agenda, often silencing the original, authentic ancestral story. “The Kukis even claimed that they are one of the lost tribes of Israel. But this claim finds no support from DNA tests. Such pathological liars. The world must distinguish between wartime propaganda and the historical truth of the events”, it added.
The NSCN-IM then said that the present scenario in Manipur is “where Kuki armed groups under SoO (Suspension of Operation) are far from being part of the official government structure receive training, weapons, logistical support and financial support from the Government of India”. In exact terms, the state actors protect the Kuki militants from legal prosecution for their crimes against the Nagas, the NSCN-IM further alleged. Under the pretext of SoO , the Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA), Government of India, regularly pays stipends to the Kuki militants (KNO and UPF) without any check on their unruly activities that goes against the spirit of SoO, the NSCN-IM also said. “They are given free hands to move around with arms as if they are part of the state security structure”, it added.
According to the NSCN-IM, the demands of all the Kuki militant groups is for Kuki homeland in the form of union territory or any type of separate administration without anything to share with the Nagas and the Meiteis. With this objective in view, the NSCN-IM said the Kuki militants have not fired a single bullet against the Indian security forces. “The Kuki militant organizations like KNO/KNA, KNF,KRA etc have been operating against the NSCN in collaboration with the Indian security forces”, it further alleged.
The NSCN-IM then asked, “Why does the Government of India need SoO (Suspension of Operation) against her foster sons?”

The NSCN-IM then asked, “Why are the Kuki militant groups going so aggressive against the Nagas?” The truth is not far to seek, it also said. “The abominable blessings of the government of India are the reason. The Kuki organizations themselves openly propagate in the social media platforms that a peaceful approach to their political aspirations is ruled out”, the NSCN-IM further said, adding, “This is the sinister design drawn by the Government of India for the Kukis”.
The NSCN-IM then said that, under this “disgusting situation forced on the NSCN”, it will be so naïve for “NSCN to remain as a mere spectator but to defend our people, their properties and land”. The NSCN-IM added by saying, “It will be a fatal mistake to go on testing the nerves of the NSCN. Truth be told that Indian security forces should stop immediately siding with the Kukis and their militant groups”.
When all is said and done, justice for the Nagas matters the most, the NSCN-IM asserted. “When we said, we will stand the ground, it signifies our God given duty to fight for justice at all cost. This is the brutal truth that the world should be educated and informed lest the malicious propaganda of the Kuki organizations is taken at face value”, it also stated.
The NSCN-IM then said Kukis are by nature pathological liars and often lie to create a false history, gain sympathy, or dramatize events. Many of the history books written by the Kuki intellectuals and scholars have gained notoriety as it has become impossible to trust as they are known around as pathological liars, fabricating or falsifying research materials, the NSCN-IM further alleged.

Ironically, according to the NSCN-IM, when historical truth is distorted for the purpose of fabricating history or events, it triggers counter-reactions as history cannot be built on lies. The NSCN-IM further said it is natural that when truth is revealed, it is going to hurt, cause discomfort and trigger defensive reactions. “But when truth is respected, it helps build trust, enables growth and leads to healing”, it added.
Regarding the Government of India in dealing with the Naga political movement, the NSCN-IM said it was glaringly seen that India was found fundamentally lacking a moral compass, unprincipled in their action and policy matters; not restrained by ideas of right and wrong. “It is also morally perverted and extremely wicked against the Nagas. They were never guided by conscience and not restrained by a sense of guilt or duty”, the NSCN-IM also said. For this reason, according to the NSCN-IM, the Government of India continues to follow the footsteps of the British India government to use the “Kuki nomadic tribe” to counter the legitimate Naga political rights in the most despicable manner, blatantly using her security forces.
The NSCN-IM then said that, in the ultimate analysis, the truth of the Naga political rights will stand the test of time no matter how much the government of India continues to nurture the Kuki militants for use against the Nagas. After all, truth is the essential foundation of trust, integrity and progress towards any socio-political crisis and solution, it stated. “Herein lies the reason why the much hyped Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015 was signed between the Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN)”, the NSCN-IM added.
