DMUTKLI Congratulates Prof Dr NG Ngalengnam

Stating that Prof Dr NG Ngalengnam acquired the promotion that he rightly deserve for his hard work and dedication, the Dhanamanjuri University Tangkhul Katamnao Long, Imphal (DMUTKLI) Friday congratulated Prof Dr NG Ngalengnam who was promoted to to full Professor by Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, a pioneer Central University in India.

The Tangkhul University student union, President in his congratulatory note pointed out that Professor Ngalengnam “taught us to go after excellence, not after the achievements”, and added that his promotion is an inspiration for many towards realizing their dreams.

DMUTKLI President, Themreishang AS Zimik in his note said that his achievement will undoubtedly add a new dimension in advancing the culture of quality education and research and administrative efficiency in the University, wishing him prosperity in his new position.

Dr NG Ngalengnam has a total teaching experience of 23 years both at College (Under graduate) and University (Post Graduate) level. He started his teaching career as a Lecturer in Political Science in 1997 at Pettigrew College, Ukhrul but later resigned from it and joined the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University – Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU – RCM) as Assistant Professor in 2009. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2016 and to full Professor in 2020. At present he is the Director of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University – Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU – RCM) and also the H.O.D in the department of Political Science and Human Rights.

He specializes in Government and Politics, Regional Studies and Research Methodology. He has successfully guided one Scholar leading to award of Ph.D Degree in Political Science; three Ph.D Scholars are under his Research guidance at present and have successfully guided 29 Scholars leading to award of M.Phil Degree in Political Science.

To his credit he has written as many as six books as a sole author and has co – authored and edited many books. “Politics in Manipur from 1972 – 2001 A.D”, “Political Economy”, “Traditional Village Administration of the Selected Tribes in

Manipur”, “Our Culture, the agent of Social Change” and “Immediate Challenges in Hill Areas of Manipur”, among others, are some of the books written by him. He has his research papers and articles published in reputed National and International journals, Newspapers and Magazines. He has been invited and presented many papers and lectures at State, National and International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops.

He is a recipient of “Bharat Ratna Dr. Radhakhrishnan Gold Medal Award” for outstanding Individual Achievement in Education from Global Economic Progress and Research Association, New Delhi in 2017 and “Star of Alumni” from the Department of Political Science, Manipur University in 2015.

Besides teaching experiences, he is proficient in various Academic Activities and administrative fields. He actively involves in various Academic bodies and Professional Societies.
