The chairman of Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (UADC) Dr Yaronsho Ngalung on Thursday extended Christmas greetings and expressed hope for the ensuing festival in ensuring peace in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.

“As we celebrate the holiday, I, on behalf of the Autonomous District Council Ukhrul, wish you all a blessed time and a prosperous celebration. My goodwill wishes go out to you all out there celebrating this beautiful festival across towns and villages in Ukhrul and Kamjong,” conveyed Dr Ngalung in his Christmas message during a news conference at his Phungreitang official quarters here on the eve of Christmas.

He observed that even as the Covid pandemic has put the entire humanity into a state of chaos and disorder, the coming of the festival celebrating the birth of Christ Jesus who came to redeem mankind from sins and destruction, would infuse a renewed hope of peace and progress.

“God has already made known to us, we will find peace in Him. We may have trouble in this world, but let’s all take heart because God has overcome all the evils and worries of this worls,” Dr Ngalung said quoting a Bible scripture.

At the same time, he also acknowledged the support and cooperation extended by everyone towards the Ukhrul Autonomous District Council throughout its five and a half years term in office, which expired on 30 November last.

“I, once again on behalf of the UADC, express our sincere gratitude to local MLAs Khashim Vashum, Alfred Kanngam Arthur and Leishiyo Keishing, NPF central leader Dr. Shulhozelie and NPF Manipur State Unit president Awangbou Newmai, District Administration, Ukhrul ADC administration and its all staff members, the CSOs of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, general public for their unwavering support and cooperation,” he said, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
