Ukhrul: Worchipem AC, District Youth officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ukhrul on Saturday inaugurated the office of Student Counselling Service at Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, opposite 6th Manipur Rifle.
The Student Counselling Service (SCS), Ukhrul is an non- profitable organisation registered under Section 7(1) of the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989 (Manipur Act 1 of 1990) bearing registration No 238/UD/SR/2022.
Speaking at the occasion, Worchipem AC, District Youth officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ukhrul who graced the event as chief guest acknowledged the work done by the Student Counselling Service Ukhrul, and made a statement saying “It is a privilege for the society to have a counselling services for the people.”
He then made a clarion appeal to the CSOs leaders to help and support such laudable initiatives taken by the SCS ukhrul.
The office is situated at Hamleikhong, in the heart of Ukhrul headquarters opposite 6th Manipur Rifle Gate.
In his speech, Solomon Razhamah,
President, said that Student Counselling Service Ukhrul mainly works in three specified areas namely “Career Counselling, Psychological Counselling and Psychological training.”
RKL Secretary, Rewardee, Sasa extended his support to the SCS and encouraged people to render help to such organisations.
The student Counselling Service would eventually enable the students and teachers to gain global and cultural perspective apart from creating awareness and open mindedness. The organisation SCS has a strong commitment to community service and desire to support and work in the long term development of the youths and the society as a whole, he emphasised.
The programme was attended by Worthemphy Jelly, secretary SCS, representatives of Raphei Katamnao Long, Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long, various CSOs and well wishers.
It maybe mentioned that SCS was established on 9 July, 2019. Ever since its inception, it has been actively working in educating youths through various Career Counselling programme and facilitating students, youths and the general populace in different area of psychological needs by collaborating youth organisations, schools, colleges and villages of Ukhrul district in particular and North- east India at large.
