Education Minister Basanta visits Ukhrul, inaugurates multiple projects, calls for learning different languages

Ukhrul, Dec 14: “Under the vision and leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi, learning of different languages to promote unity amongst diversified communities and cultures will be implemented soon”, Education minister Th. Basanta Kumar Singh announced on Tuesday at Ukhrul.

Visiting Ukhrul district, Basanta was accompanied by Transport minister Khasim Vashum and Alfred Khaute, MCS Addl. Director Education (S) where they also inaugurated multiple projects including Hoomi High school building at Hoomi Village, Transit Accommodation for Doctors & Teachers under Planning Department at Jessami and Sadbhavana Mandab at Ukhrul DHQ under Minority Affairs Department on behalf of chief minister N. Biren Singh.

The former IPS officer now Education minister Basanta while inaugurating the new building of Hoomi High School, Ukhrul district distributed sports materials sets and white board sets to the students.

He emphasised on the need to learn different languages to promote unity and togetherness under the far sighted vision of prime minister Modi. In this regard, two months training with some incentives will be provided by the government to those learning languages as recognized by the government, he stated.

Manipur government under N. Biren Singh will be implementing different education programs and policies very soon”, the Education minister announced. He also informed that, a new project called “BALA” (Building As Learning Aids) will be implemented by January next year. It is envisioned to reach and teach students in specialized subjects in every part of Manipur by teachers working on voluntary basis. The Education minister while assuring support and assistance to Hoomi High School, thanked the school management, villagers and students for the wonderful inauguration program.
