Two Held with 3,000 Electric Detonators in Mizoram

Ukhrul: A well-coordinated intelligence-led operation by the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police led to the seizure of 3,000 electric detonators, 700 meters of cordtex, and other war-like stores in Mizoram’s Champhai district. The operation also resulted in the arrest of two individuals.

Authorities suspect the explosives were intended for illegal activities, posing a serious security threat. The apprehended individuals and seized materials have been handed over to Mizoram Police for further investigation.

Following the operation, the Assam Rifles confirmed the successful raid on social media, stating, “Assam Rifles along with Mizoram Police apprehended two individuals and recovered 3,000 electric detonators, 700 metres cordtex, and war-like stores in general area Vokte Kai in Zokhawtar, Champhai district, Mizoram.”

Champhai district, which shares a border with Myanmar, has been a hotspot for smuggling and illegal activities.
