KOHIMA: The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) wrapped up a series of crucial discussions with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) from December 18 to 21, aimed at advancing the long-standing demand for a Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) to address developmental disparities in the region’s six eastern districts.

The engagements began on December 18 with a bilateral meeting between the ENPO delegation and an MHA team led by Northeast Advisor A.K. Mishra. Key officials in attendance included Director (NE) A.K. Dhyani, Joint Director (IB) Rajesh Kamble, and Joint Secretary (NE) Niraj Kumar Bansod.
This was followed by a tripartite high-level committee meeting on December 19 at Kartavya Bhavan-3, involving representatives from the Government of India, the Nagaland Government, and the ENPO. The session was chaired by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, while the Nagaland delegation was headed by Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen.

The visit culminated on December 21 with a courtesy call by the ENPO delegation, accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP S. Phangnon Konyak, on Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence.
The delegation extended Christmas greetings and expressed gratitude for the minister’s ongoing commitment to resolving the FNT issue, according to an ENPO statement.
