Ex-BSF Personnel Affected by Manipur Violence Notified to Submit Proposal For Compensation Claims

UKHRUL: All Ex-BSF personnel affected by the ongoing Manipur violence have been notified to submit a self contained proposal to the Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB) to avail the benefits of government schemes within 45 days from the date of notification.

In a notification issued on Thursday, the SHQ BSF CI (Ops) Manipur stated that those ex-BSF personnel who lost their property during the ethnic violence in Manipur have to submit a self contained proposal for grant of compensation to WARB for consolidation and further submission to MHA for consideration.

Affected individuals are to submit their compensation claims, in a prescribed format, along with supporting documents, including personal details, details of property loss, proof of identity (Aadhaar card, voter ID or any valid government-issued ID), proof of Ex-servicemen status (discharge certificate or pension payment order/PPO), proof of property ownership (document such as land deeds, property, tax receipts, utility bills, or mutation records).

The affected personnel must also submit an FIR Copy — A Copy of the FIR lodged with local police regarding the incident; an affidavit  â€” A notarized affidavit by the claimant confirming that the loss of property was due to the Manipur ethnic violence, claim is genuine and has not been submitted elsewhere and all documents submitted are true and correct to the best of their knowledge; a photographic evidence (if available) — Visual documentation of the damaged property, residence, or premises.

Moreover, any other relevant information or documents that need to be incorporated may also be submitted with the claim forms.  to the “Nodal Officer (Commandant Ops), SHQ CI Ops, Manipur Sector”, through nearby Companies, Battalions, or Adhoc Battalions deployed in Manipur and the HQrs/Units from where they retired, the SHG BSF CI (Ops) Manipur stated, adding that further details and claim forms are available with all the BSF establishments all over India, including unit/headquarters under SHG BSF CI (Ops) Manipur and Adhoc Sector HQ Manipur located at Koirengei, Manipur.
