First Edition of Manipur Border Trail Run Ends

CHANDEL: The first edition of the Manipur Border Trail Run 1.0 Op Sadbhavana concluded on Tuesday at the Chakpikarong Football ground in Chandel district, Manipur.

Organised by 17 AR in collaboration with District Sports Association (DSA) Chandel, Kuki Students Association Chandel and Chakpikarong Sub-Divisional Sporting Association Chandel, the event saw over a 1,000 runners from the age group of 7-75 years.

The trail run was held in three-distant categories namely Tuiyang Grizzly Run of 14 Kms, Tuiyang Deer Dash of 8 Kms and Chakpi Rabbit Run of 5 kms. Moreover, the trail runs were held in the category of Open, Senior and AR Personnel.

Gracing the closing ceremony as chief guest, Brig Pranav Prasoon, DIG, 28 Sector Assam Rifles, who also gave away prizes to the winners, congratulated all who participated and said that the trail run would continue in the future too.

This trail run is for good health, fitness and for peace, the DIG said. He also welcomed all those present and called on them to continue running.

“The Indian Rhino” Chungreng Koren, Pro MMA fighter and NFN Bantamweight Champion attended the ceremony as guest of honour also distributed the prizes. Kemmi Bungsong, who was recently crowned Miss Chakpi 2026, also attended the event and gave away the prizes for the run.

As for the results of the trail run, Kh. Zabed Hussain was the winner in the male 14 km while Tr. Dithuanglung came in second and Md. Zamir Khan coming in 3rd. In the senior category, Md. Imtiyaz Rehman came first, Nl. Hmunvar Anal second and Lungoulen Haokip in 3rd place. As for the AR category, Rifleman Rajkumar Sahu of 17 AR came in first, Rameshwar Dangi of 1 AR in second and Rajbir Singh of 17 AR in third.

In the 14 Km female open version, Baby Veinaithing came first with Wm. Rabiya in second place and Kt. Jamuni in third place. In the senior category, the lone participant, Nisochun Panei was declared the winner.

In the 8 Km male open category, Md. Rashish Khan came in first, Md. Afsar Khan in second place and Md. Irfan in third place. In the senior category, St. Kosen Anal came in first, Thangkholal second and Seikhilun Baite in third. In the AR personnel category, Rifleman Govind Talwar of 17 AR came in first, Rifleman Gaurav Kumar of 17 AR in second and Rifleman Rohit Kumar in third place. Meanwhile in the female category of the same, Christina came first in the open female category, Ws. Khihmanhring in second and Seltun Tohmanhring in third place.

In the AR personnel category of the 8 Km, Sharmila Dalai came in first, Mamta Shah in second place and Shiv Lila in third place.

In the 5 Km Chakpi Rabbit Run, Benjanim Sankhil came first, Kh Shetdon Lamkang came second and Jamkhotang in the Senior Male Category. In the Senior Open Male category, Md. Areeb came first, Md Baddruddin second and Khullakpam Albash in third.

In the senior female category of 5 Km, Rd. Khinu came first, Rd. Hringthu in second place and Rd. Japani in third place. In the open female category, Sinruwng Ningsinghring came in first, Nula Nangthani Anal in second place and Shangeeta Bungsong in third place.

In the boys category of 5 Km, WS. Thumison Anal came in first, Bd. Lover Anal in second place and Kai Haopao Haokip in third place. In the girls category, Kharin Vashum came in first, Seltun Tumnikham in second place and Hulang Palthani in the third place.

Chandel SP Dharmendra Kumar and Ts. Chamna Anal, president DSA also attended the event.
