Five fresh COVID-19 positive cases; 366 inoculated on Tuesday in Manipur

Manipur reported new COVID-19 cases below 10-mark for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, showing fast improvement in the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

In the state, only five new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours and no death related to the pandemic for four consecutive days.

The five fresh cases pushed the infection tally of the state to 29,077. The tally included 28,568 recovered cases as the active case remained at 138 as same number of six patients discharged on Tuesday after they recovered from the viral disease.

Of the five new cases, three were from Imphal East and one each from Imphal West and Bishnupur district, the daily COVID-19 daily status update report of the state health department showed.

There was no report of death related to COVID-19 illness in the past 24 hours, the health department.

With 1,483 samples tested for the viral disease in the past 24 hours, the cumulative number of samples tested in the state rose to 5,17,553 on Tuesday.

On the other hand, with 366 for inoculated, the total number of healthcare workers vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine in the state rose to 4,739 today.

This is 56.90% of the targeted beneficiaries of 7,310 in the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive which commenced from January 16 last.
